You’ve tried everything. Or at least it feels that way

After 50, our bodies change. Weight settles around our middle and refuses to budge. Energy drops.

You know healthy ageing matters, so you start strong, then life happens. Work deadlines, family demands, stress. Before you know it, you're halfway through the ice-cream, telling yourself you've got no willpower so you may as well eat the cookies and try again on Monday.

But it’s got nothing to do with willpower and you’re definitely not a failure. The problem isn’t a lack of information. It's implementation.

The support and structure to stay consistent, even when life gets messy. And a mindset shift that changes how you think about food.

That’s why I built Fed, Focused & Fabulous

Hi, I'm Ruth. As a retired doctor, I've seen the long-term effects of lifestyle diseases. I built this community to help women over 50 prevent those outcomes, using my expertise in nutrition, coaching and psychology.

Because you don’t need another diet. No restrictive meal plans. No calorie counting. No feeling hangry or food guilt.

You need evidence-based solutions, behavioural tools and the support to make nutrition work in real life, one realistic step at a time. With systems that help you get back on track with self-kindness, when things go sideways.

If I could describe Fed, Focused & Fabulous in a sentence, it’s like Atomic Habits and a Mediterranean Diet cookbook had a baby!

My mission is to help women build lasting nutrition habits that support aging with energy, confidence, and freedom around food. Weight loss happens when you consistently support your body.

And yes, you can still eat ice-cream.

The goal setting process, in particular, the plan B approach has really helped with my all or nothing thinking. Tracking new habits and changes one by one rather than trying to change everything in one day and then getting disheartened.”

Is this community for you?

It’s for you if

✅ You want to lose fat from your midsection in a steady and sustainable way

✅ You’d like to fill knowledge gaps about nutrition after 50

✅ You struggle with staying consistent

✅ You want nutrition that fits busy imperfect days, not rigid rules

✅ You’re open to learning new skills around habits, appetite and mindset

✅ You want structure, support and a community

It’s not for you if

❎ You’re seeking rapid or extreme weight loss

❎ You want a meal plan to follow

❎ You’re looking to eliminate carbohydrates entirely or follow a very low-carb approach (e.g. keto or carnivore)

❎ If you don’t want to try new things

❎ You have a diagnosed eating disorder

❎ You’re currently experiencing regular binge eating where you eat a large amount of food while feeling out of control

If either of the final two points applies, you deserve specialist support and this community is not designed to replace that.

Your questions, answered

  • Absolutely not. You can cancel at any time.

  • Each course module takes around 30 -45 minutes to read. The weekly action planning takes about 15 minutes. Practicing your small weekly action can take as little or as much time as you choose, as can hanging out in the forum. This is designed to fit your life.

  • Only if you want to, I’ll never ask you to share it. I believe health is so much more than a number on a scale and this is a weight-stigma free space. All bodies are beautiful. It’s also okay to want to lose deep belly (visceral) fat, because we know it’s associated with negative health outcomes. I will help you to find your ‘best weight’, the weight you can maintain whilst enjoying a healthy life, rather than chasing a set number.

  • Absolutely, provided you’re under the care of a doctor. This community can help you build sustainable eating habits alongside your medical treatment.

  • Crikey no! If it works for you that’s great but it’s not for everyone. Instead, I will teach you how to tune into your body’s hunger and fullness signals and give it what it needs.

  • I truly hope so. Whilst I cannot give guarantees, if you’re willing to push outside of your comfort zone, do the work and make the changes, you’ll find everything you need in this community. Including a lot of support and a few dubious puns.

  • Yes! I have a degree from Cambridge University in medical sciences and psychology and I completed my medical degree at the University of London. However, I no longer work as a doctor so whilst I know a lot about how the body works, I can’t provide medical advice. I’m also a registered health coach, mindful eating instructor (MB-EAT) and I’m in the middle of a MSc in nutrition.
